Cyclone Burevi : Highest rainfall recorded from Alampil in Mullaithivu

As at 02:00 AM today (03) the highest rainfall of 222 mm was recorded from Alampil in Mullaithivu.

200.5 mm of rain was recorded in Ottusudan.

As at 02:30 AM today (03) Jaffna recorded a rainfall of 194.3 mm.

Further, Padaviya recorded 193 mm of rain, Udayarkattu recorded 189 mm, Welioya recorded 180 mm.

The Sri Lankan Met Department said cyclone Burevi made landfall in Sri Lanka somewhere between 10:30 & 11:30 Wednesday (02) night between the areas of Kuchchaveli and Thiriyaya in the Eastern Coast of the Country.

The Met Department said the cyclone will move further away from the country today (03).
